Recently I received an email from Levi Thornton (Head of Wordze), and I thought it strange because I hadn't heard from him in awhile. Anyway he explained that last year he had sold the business, and the new business owners had some problems running and updating the website. You are probably already aware of Google Trends. But for those of you who are not, here's a quick summary. It's a website that shows the latest trends in searches shown on Google. You can break down the information into country and city, and you can compare relative search volumes. The problem is that you may want to compare searches from the first part of two months. Well we can offer you the data to download for free. It contains :

• Broken into region/language.

This has been a great year for search engines, we now have more competition than ever, and with the emergence of a new search engines (CUIL.com , etc) there is still a lot to play for in this market. Google is reported to have up to 80% market penetration in certain countries, while in the the US this is close to 65%.
